i'm a slacker....

i am such a slacker!!! although i have been working for the wonderful efy program for the past 2 months, so i guess that excuse works, right? what an adventure this has been! i've loved being a bc (building counselor) for efy, but i didn't expect it to be this hard and exhausting at times. it does have it's rewards though, that's for sure.

i've been able to meet and work with some hilariously funny team members, some amazing counselors, and unforgettable session directors. sometimes i forget the amazing experiences this program gives you. the youth are amazing as well. i've been able to get to know some youth and it's been fun.

i also got the chance on one of my teams weeks off to work a counselor week in logan. that was so fun! i have to be honest and say that i didn't want to do it and for the first time i had no idea why i was there. the week started off pretty good...the youth were fun, but i was still asking myself why i chose to pick that week up.

as the days went on i soon learned that these youth are amazing and that one week i was able to have to be with them was worth every second. they taught me some valuable lessons and i learned a couple things along the way. i realized that i had forgotten for a moment what it was like to be a counselor incharge of youth. i had forgotten the responibility and the time that one puts into it. going back to being a bc i feel that working that week in logan helped me to focus more on my counselors and their needs. i've got about 4 more weeks left of this summer and i hope i can do everything in my power to make them the best.

my outside life has been going really well. i've met a boy and have been dating him for the last month or so. his name is chris and he's really wonderful. i haven't been this happy in a long time and it feels good to be like this again. we've had a lot of fun together so far going to movies, wedding receptions, park city, shopping, a bee's game, and even trying to defeat my grandparents at cards - we have been unsuccessful so far, but know that one day we will be able to do it! can't lie, it sure does make the summer that much better :)

some else that's new, but not official yet, is that i'm in the process of transferring to byu. i just got my associates from byu-idaho and have reached that point of feeling the need to moving to something new. i've loved byu-i, but for the last year i've just felt very off about it. finally making the decision to transfer to byu has never felt more right. i've been running around this week trying to get all the paperwork and applications done, while in the middle of efy, so that i can hopefully get in for the fall semester. if not, my plan is to take night classes and then hopefully be in for the winter sememster. keep your fingers crossed for me to become a byu cougar!

(pictures of all the fun to come hopefully sooner rather than later...)
