I'm finally Mrs. McNulty

Ok, so I'm a total slacker on this blogging stuff since I got married!!
Oh dear...I promise not to be this way from now on.

Marriage has been wonderful! Chris and I are loving
being together all the time, never saying good bye at the end of the night,
and especially being able to be sealed as husband and wife!

So, as many have done before, I have started a new blog.
Come and read

It should be interesting :)

p.s. wedding and honeymoon pictures to come soon!!

getting married in the morning

So...I'm getting married in the morning.
CRAZY!!
I can't believe this time is here finally. It seems like it's been forever
that I've waited to call Christopher James my husband.
Tomorrow at noon, I finally can.

Wish me luck tomorrow!

2 more days

So much has gone on this last week, I haven't
been able to post anything!! Monday last week, my wonderful
family came to town and have been helping me with
wedding stuff left and right. It's been amazing
to have them around.

Thursday.
Thursday was so fun!
I had my bridals and boy was that awesome!!
Chris was wonderful. He was such a good sport
and we had a great time. The weather was amazing (if only I could have
that kind of weather for the wedding day!), and Kelly from
Gallery Photography was so much fun too. He always makes
these moments the best. We are excited to have him for
our wedding day ( pictures to follow)!

Friday.
Friday was amazing.
My love for this Church has grown even more
since Friday. I was able to go through the temple and I
had so many family members there, it was such a blessing to
see them. Most of all though, I was grateful to have my
parents and Chris there with me to be part of this.
The temple is such an amazing place, and I want to go back as
much as I can. I can't wait for Thursday!!

I can't believe I'm getting married in 2 days...
Time has flown by SO fast it's crazy!
Chris and I have been so busy these last few days trying
to get everything done. Me getting wedding things done, and
Chris getting homework done since he'll be missing some school
while we are on our honeymoon.

2 days.
2 days.
2 days!!!

Can't wait to marry my best friend on Thursday!
Pray for good weather...it's supposed to be stormy and
cold all day. Whatever comes though, I'll love it because I'll
be married to Christopher James McNulty for all time and eternity!!

p.s. here are some pictures from bridals :

Talk to you all after the wedding!! Next time I blog I'll be
Mrs. Paige A. McNulty...crazy!!

one week and a day

I only have a week and day left in my so called
"single" life and it's so weird!! It's crazy to think that I'm going
to be married in a little over a week from now. So crazy.
Christopher and I are so excited though. We are
tired of counting down the days!!

My family arrived on Monday, and we've been busy
getting the last minute errands done and things
finished. There's a bit of work to be done...still. Ha. I feel
like I say that every time I make a post about
anything to do with the wedding.

It's kind of deja vu-ish to have them here. What I mean by
that is, this whole time I've been counting down with Chris until the
day that we get to be married, and it's always felt like it's forever away.
But now that it's practically here, it's a whole different feeling!

Everything will come together how it needs to though! I've got
a crafty Mom that has an eye for making things look good.
So I know that she will make the wedding look fabulous,
but most importantly, Chris and I are getting married in temple
in just over a week, and that I can't wait for!

On another note, I get to go through the temple on Friday :)
I'm so excited I can't wait. I sure do love the temple.

Well, there's only 8 days left until I marry the love of my life!

love language

Last night Chris and I went to our Eternal Marriage
institute class. Oh how I love Tuesday nights with the fiance!
Each time I go to this class I learn something new
that will help me not only be a better person, but a better wife.
The lesson was on the 5 Love Languages last night.

awesome!

I loved this lesson. Our teacher said that this is the favorite
class that all past students attended. We took a test and to see which
of the 5 languages we spoke. What were the results?

Chris = physical touch

Paige = physical touch / quality time

It'll be interesting to see how we work together and how
we learn to accommodate each of our love languages. Needless
to say, I love it all! I love the adventure that we're
about to embark on, and the different places we'll go and see in the
over the rest of this year.

Usually I would be so nervous to start
all this new change (don't get me wrong, I am), but to
have Christopher James by my side, I'm not so nervous anymore.

I sure do love that boy.

some updates

Well folks, we are down to just about 2 weeks
before the big event takes place. I have been running all
over the place trying to get the numerous tasks done
that need to be done. There have been some
changes to the wedding. Some are quite sad!!

change #1

the bridesmaids skirts failed.

I am so sad!! I LOVED these skirts and we had the
unfortunate situation happen of them being too small.
I was stupid for not having my sisters try them on
before last week because now I can't get any new sizes.

Thank goodness I have a wonderful mother because as soon as
we discovered the skirts wouldn't fit, she got online and
found a cute dress that will work just fine for the bridesmaids.
We are going to accent the dresses with some yellow flats (see below),
and some yellow jewelry, which I'm still looking for.

Let me know what you think:
(we have a yellow cardigan to go with them if it looks good)

change # 2

So the original plan was to let the bridesmaids and groomsmen
find some yellow shoes and do a type of contest out of it.
Well for some reason all the girls were struggling to find yellow shoes
that were actually cute. I was so there about a month ago while
looking for cute shoes for the wedding day...
thank you ebay for providing me with the adorable heels
that I will be strutting in on April 7th.

Well, here's another shout-out to ebay because I was able to
find adorable yellow flats in all the sizes we needed
for my bridesmaids. I may or may not have purchased some
for myself in orange and blue!

Here are the shoes:
other updates

Things have been going well otherwise. Just busy sending out
last minute invites, trying to figure out what candy we
want for the candy bar, and putting finishing details together for the
reception center. I have some ideas that I've that I need
to figure out if they'll work or not, but hopefully I can figure
something out soon! I've been wedding blog stalking at work just trying
to find some other ideas to try out and there is a lot out there!
It's just how much time I have to do it all...

Basically I'm just ready...I'm ready to put my wedding dress on
and be all gussied up with my hair did and sparkly jewelry on, while
wearing my high heels. I want to feel like a real bride, not that I
don't already do, but I feel like it wont be real until I actually
have the dress on.

I can't wait to see my flowers, and to see my cake. For the reception
center to fill up with our family and close friends. To shove cake in Christopher's
face and to dance to our song in the ballroom. To leave under a shower of
sparklers and hop into our getaway car and drive off into the night to
start our new lives together as Mr. & Mrs. McNulty.

Only 15 days until all of that happens.

cant wait.

fort night

Christopher and I are trying to think of fun, creative dates
to have these days since the weather isn't quite where
we'd like it to be, so that we can go do something outside...

This past Saturday, after the awesome BYU game (way to go boys),
Chris and I made our way to the car through the cold
rain. We bounced around a number of ideas for
what fun we could do on this rainy night.
I had the idea to have a movie night...in a fort.

I love building forts! So we drove back to my
grandparents house and starting gathering blankets and chairs
and other items needed to build this fort of awesomeness.

It took us about a good half hour, but we finally finished our fort
and it looks awesome!! Here's a picture to prove it.

Inside I laid some blankets down for padding and some comfy pillows from
the couch for us to rest our heads on. This fort was huge!

I popped some yummy popcorn and we snuggled up and watched
Pirates of the Caribbean...a classic! It was a great rainy
date night. Needless to say, the fort is still up and we enjoyed some
March Madness yesterday afternoon after church.

I love that my future hubby acts like a kid with me and really
enjoys things like this. I think we'll have a pretty fun life together!

p. s. only 17 days left! We've officially entered the teens...crazy!!

All I want to say today is...

only 14 days until I go through the temple

AND

only 20 days until I marry Christopher James!

still so much to do...

24 days and a slump

Today Chris and I hit 24 days in our countdown
to marriage. Can you believe it's coming
that fast? We sure can't...but we are so stoaked to finally
be Mr. and Mrs. McNulty. I am still running
through my mind every detail and what needs to be finished,
and what still needs to be paid for and figured out.
There's a lot to be done still...

BUT
the big stuff is done and over with.
It's all planned and ready to go. My dress is
ready for bridals, and my flowers are all
figured out. The reception food is all squared away,
and the groomsmen and tuxes have all been ordered.

Now all that's left is decorations for the reception, figuring
out what candy we want for the candy bar, try to
make some tissue paper flower balls to hang around our
reception center, the bridesmaids outfits need to be
completed - this is turning into it's own dilemma!
We also need to find a place to live for when we come back
in the fall. We don't want to scramble to find something
at the last minute, so we want to narrow to a few
places so that we can decided later this summer.

I have also hit a slump...

I'm tired of work. I'm tired of getting up early for a job
that I don't really like, to be honest. I love the people
I work with, and some of the students are really great and fun
to be around, but it's just a dead end job for me. This isn't
what I want to do, and so for me it's just to pay the bills
and save for the first few months of marriage.

I know I only have about 2 1/2 weeks left,
but I am dying of boredom!!
Could I make crafts at work?? Haha.
That probably wouldn't be the best idea huh?

2 weeks from today though I get to see my family!!
The best part though is that in just over 3 weeks I get to marry
my best friend :) That's the thing that is getting
me through each and every day.

3 weeks.

3 weeks from today I will be entering the
Draper temple for the very first time to take out my
endowments. It's crazy to think that it's almost here.
I've been preparing for this time my whole life.

In addition to my whole life of preparation, I've been reading some
different talks and a book about the temples all around
the world and the importance of them.
In this book called "Look to the Temple," by Ed J. Pinegar,
he quotes President Gordon B. Hinckely in a conference talk he
gave back in 1995 on the temple. President Hinckley said this:

"These unique and wonderful buildings, and the ordinances administered therein, represent the ultimate in our worship. These ordinances become the most profound expressions of our theology. I urge our people everywhere, with all of the persuasiveness of which I am capable, to live worthy to hold a temple recommend, to secure one and regard it as a precious asset, and to make a greater effort to go to the house of the Lord and partake of the spirit and the blessings to be had therein. I am satisfied that every man or woman who goes to the temple in a spirit of sincerity and faith leaves the house of the Lord a better man or woman. There is need for constant improvement in all of our lives. There is need occasionally to leave the noise and the tumult of the world and step within the walls of a sacred house of God, there to feel His spirit in an environment of holiness and peace."

What a wonderful thought from a beloved prophet of ours!
I have decided that I'm going to find and read at least one talk every
day from someone on the temples. The importance of them,
ways to prepare to go in them, and of course temple marriage. I know there's
a lot to learn, and that I can't quite fully prepare for it, but I when I enter
3 weeks from today, I want to know I did my best
to learn as much as I could before.

I love the temple and to not give it enough attention in my life
is a very selfish thing for me to do. I can't wait to be
able to enter it and do more work for those who were
unable to do so while here on earth.

What a wonderful blessing we as members of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
have to be able to take part of the work that goes on in these
remarkable and sacred buildings.

new place, long drive

So its finally begun...my trek from Draper
to Provo every morning. If you're wondering why on earth
I'm making this drive every morning, allow me to
explain myself...

I sold my contract to my townhouse and moved
to my grandparents house in Draper.
I still am working at Independence High School
until the end of this month, so I get to wake
up at 7am, primp and beautify myself, then get on the I-15
and head south to the wonderful University Ave. exit.

I find myself even more tired than normal this morning. I even went
to bed early last night! I didn't have the best nights sleep though.
New place...you know how that goes. Anyways, I have
a lot of crap that I need to organize and to decided whether
I want to keep it, or "DI" it.

The other thing that I have to face is being away from
the fiance...instead of 10 minutes, I'm now over
20 minutes, and seeing that gas is so expensive, neither of us
can really afford to drive back and forth as much as we already are.
It stinks being so far from him. It stinks a lot.

This was the plan though to help me save some money, so it's a good thing.
A very good thing. Good thing I have KBull 93 for the morning drive!

p.s. only 28 days now!

jazz vs. celtics

So the fiance and I went to the Jazz vs. Celtics game
Monday night. Boy was it a crazy game! The Jazz
lost unfortunately, but man it was intense for the whole second
half of the game. Celtics would be up a few points
and then the Jazz would be one or two behind
and then they would tie it up and even pass them,
but then the Celtics would just come back.

I have to admit, I've been a Celtics fan for the last 3 years,
so going into this game was tough trying to figure out
who I was was going to root for. As Chris and I sat
down in our seats, I was excited to see my beloved KG on the
court. But I also found myself cheering for the Jazz as the game began.

I cheered when the Jazz made a shot and booed when the refs
made an unfair call on them. Chris and I were very
surprised with how many Celtics fans there were though. We
think it's a ton of bandwagoners who used to be D-Will fans, but
have not abandoned ship because he's gone.

Lame. That's what I think!

I don't know how he did it, but Christopher James has converted
me from being a true through and through Celtics fan
to a true blue Jazz fan! Don't get me wrong, I still think the Celtics
are a very good team and I still love watching them play,
but they have a stacked team, which in the NBA equals total unfairness!

Even though the Jazz lost, we had great seats and a great time.

p.s. time is flying by!! only 34 days now.
Remember when it was like 90? Yeah...that was stupid!

elder cook

Went to a devotional given by this man today with Chris.
What an amazing opportunity it is for us as young adults, or as
members of the church, to be able to listen to these
called men of God.

Growing up in Minnesota I didn't have very many opporunities
to hear General Authority members speak. But since
I've moved away from home, and have been away at college and
other various places, I've had many amazing chances to see and shake hands
with these men. How grateful I am for those great opportunities.

I'm excited that Chris and I get to get to go to Conference the weekend before
our wedding. It's my favorite part of the year. Good thing it happens
in April and in October!!

summer, will you come...please?

I am tired of the cold.

I'm tired of dressing warm every day.

I'm tired of wearing a jacket at work the whole day
because it's freezing in my office and everywhere else in the
school building.

I'm tired of not wearing my sandals to show off my
painted toenails.

I'm tired of bundling up at night because
it's so cold.

I'm tired of waking up early.

I'm tired of not being married to Christopher James.

I'm tired of only seeing the sun 2 or 3 days a week.

I'm tired of snow...and no flowers.

Basically, I'm ready for the summer to be here. I am ready for it to be May
already and for the sun to be out all the time and for the temperature
to be above 50. I'm ready to get my tan on and not look so pasty white all the time.
Too bad I'll look at way when I get married...oh well.

So summer...this post is for you.
Will you PLEASE come and warm the place up!!

one month.

Today marks the one month mark until I get to go through the temple.
I cannot wait. To think that one month from today I get to enter
into the House of the Lord and take that next step is
the best feeling ever. I am filled with excitement similar to
a little kid on Christmas morning.

There's still a lot of planning and preparing for me to do not just for
the temple, but for the wedding as well. Seeing that there's only
a month until the temple means there's only a month and a week before the wedding!
Only a month and a week to be "single" aka "not married". I've hated filling
forms out for a new passport and stuff that ask for me to check which box applies to me:
single, married, divorced, widowed.
I have to mark single even though I'm not single!! I'm engaged and soon to be married.
It's kind of annoying. But soon I wont have to have this problem because I will
be able to mark "married". How sweet is that!?

So here's what I still have left to do:

- Try on my dress after the alterations
- Make sure my shoes and jewelry go with the dress
- Find the rest of the bridesmaids outfits
- Get the groomsmen fitted to their vests, and find ties
- Continue making tissue paper flowers (they are trickier than I thought!)
- Pack up my room and move to my grandparents
- Send out invitations!!! (that will be this week (: )
- Prepare to enter the temple and do all that's needed for that
- Change my social security card, license, etc.
- Finish at my job at IHS

I know I have more, but that's all I can think of for now...
See there's a lot! But I am loving every minute of it.
It's fun being a bride and planning all this stuff for one of the best
days Chris and I will have, but I also can't wait for the day
when I get to call him my husband. Fiance kind of gets
old and you just want the next chapter to come.

only one month and 6 days until all that happens

Thursday, February 17, 2011

happy (way late) day of love.

So I am WAY late for wishing all a happy Valentines day...
things have been a little crazy around here and I
have barely had time to even blog (as you can see...).

Anywho, I have finally had some time to sit down and whip
out a few thoughts on this wonderful day of love that
I got to share with my sweetheart.

The day started off with lots of testing at work. The students
are doing the yearly UALPA test, which is a test for
students that don't have English as their first language.
Anyways, it took all day for me to test these teenagers, but
once 1:30 rolled around, I was on my way to meet Mr. Chris
at his work with the Kindergartener's. So exciting!

These kids were so cute and I envy Chris that he gets to work with them
all day when I get to work with fowl mouthed teenagers...
so not fair! But I helped these kids make V-Day boxes to put their
candy in, and I got to have little chats with them too. Kids say
the cutest things. I just love it!

After the little tykes went home, I left to go finish the fiances present and
to get ready for our hot, surprise date that he was taking me on :)

(Side note: this is what the fiance did to ask me out for this date.
This is my desk at work...yep isn't he adorable!!)

Back to the night...So Chris picked me up and took me to a DELICIOUS
dinner at Tucanos. Oh my word that place is so good.
Chris and I about died every time a waiter brought around a
new selection of meat. So yummy.

After dinner we went over to the school that Chris works at and
watched the 5th and 6th graders put on the play Aladdin.
So cute. Those kids, I couldn't get enough of them!

We then made a trip over to the movie theater and watched ourselves
Just Go With It. It's the new Adam Sandler flick. Chris
and I love movies, and so this idea was perfect!

To top the night off he drove me up to the spot where he proposed,
pulled out the iPad (yes we got an iPad...we are suckers for
all Mac technology), and played our song Marry Me, by Train,
as we danced and talked about our wedding and our future
that we are so excited to start. He is amazing.

Overall it was an amazing Valentines. I'm mad I don't have any
pictures to show from it...I need to be better!! But
I fell in love with my Christopher James even more that night.
I can't wait for the many Valentines Day's to come.

the engagement pictures you've all been waiting for!

So this has been a CRAZY week, but I have finally
had some time at work to load some of mine and
Chris's favorites from our engagement session with
Kelly from Gallery Photography.

Here they are. There's a lot of them...so enjoy!!

There they are! I hope you enjoyed them because we sure did.

56 days by the way...it's not like
I'm counting or anything :)
